This is a set of four hand painted porcelain stud buttons with a matching piece that is a sash buckle. The sash buckle could be turned into a brooch.
Each is skillfully painted with three roses - one red, one pink and one yellow. They are unsigned, but almost certainly originating from the Limoges area of France, probably circa 1900.
The back of the buckle is impressed with the number 20. Two of the buttons measure 1 in diameter and two measure 3/4 in diameter. The buckle or brooch is set is ormolu metal and measures 1 3/4 by 2. All five pieces are in very good condition with no chips, cracks or wear.
