For sale is a set of four famille Chinese rose porcelain plaque paintings. Depicting the Eight Immortals from Chinese mythology engaging in different activities.
The plaques were signed Pan Taoyu. And dated Year of 1908. 18871926 was an important Chinese porcelain painter, active in early 20th century in the porcelain capital Jingdezhen area during late Qing and early Republic of China era.
Based on the date on the paintings, this set was executed during the last year of emperor Guangxu's reign on the eve of the collapse of the Qing empire and start of the Republic. H 24.5 x W 10. Condition: the porcelain paintings are all in good shape; the wooden figures carvings are also as well; the wooden frames, however, because of age, have suffered cracking peeling-offs and damages in various places, and need some TLC.
