This Limoges Rose Ferner has graced our Mother's home for forty years. Is at least 120 years old. Its hand-painted pink roses are contrasted by mint & dark green or pink & cream background colors.Ideal for a table centerpiece, as each side displays different roses, from opening buds to full blooms. The main front and rear painted images of double roses are slightly different (Photos 1 & 4). Also, an attractive, scalloped edge decorates both the upper and lower rims of the planter. The four gold-gilt medallion feet highlight this one-of-a kind piece.
The authentic Limoges, France green stamp, Limoges, Mark 6, dates the piece to after 1891. The weight of the porcelain, the elaborate gilt feet, and the quality of color, places this piece at the end of the Victorian era (1890s).
Measures 5 1/4" high, 10 1/4" long x 10 1/4 wide. Like much Victorian porcelain, this piece is substantial, weighing in at over 3 1/2 pounds. From our Mother's personal collection. Box weight is 7 lbs. Local Pick-up is also available.
