2 Antique Rose Pink Signed Sevres 1755 Hand Painted Courting Scene Plates
Here's a pretty pair of soft paste, hand painted and gilded plates, both with lovely courting scenes. They both have the interlocked'L' mark enclosing the letter'C'on their back sides, indicating they date to 1755.
The border is a beautiful pink with raised wreath designs accented with gold. Rims are scalloped and gold, and linking white feather-like lines lie just inside the edge. There is a small amount of wear to the gilt lines rimming the center scene. The scenes are signed by the artist in the lower left corners. They measure 9.1/4 in diameter, and there are no chips or cracks.
